After working 5 years in the home building and design industries, my passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces evolved into what is now Quarry Haus. My business got its name from the land my parents built their own home on, an old stone quarry that had once built the foundation of the church they were married in, and the same church that eventually my husband Ryan and I were married in as well. Haus (the German spelling of ‘house’) comes from the heritage we were both born into, now even more evident in the last name we share.

As a child, I grew up in Georgia, living among wrap around porches, an abundance of brick and no shortage of historic architecture. Maybe this upbringing is why I’ve always had a soft spot for old homes and the character that comes with them. We then moved to Iowa when I was in elementary school, and I grew to love the small town life that came with miles of open fields, cozy Main Streets and big white farmhouses that doubled as family heirlooms.

Throughout my life, whether I was living in a rental, an apartment or a house, I always felt the desire to make every place feel like home. Now, I get to continue sharing that passion with others through Quarry Haus. I believe our homes are the backdrop for some of life’s best memories, and intentional design can make them so much sweeter.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Quarry Haus and my journey in design. I would be honored to help uncover your home’s full potential.

Sincerely,
